The City of Novi prides itself on being providing open, inclusive and transparent government – a key element of which is communication. Communication is powerful, and with proper use, can go far in promoting City services and educating citizens and business on important issues.

The City of Novi communicates with stakeholders in a variety of ways, through a multi-layered approach across all media – print, broadcast, internet and social media – and enjoys partnerships with organizations throughout the community to share the Novi “story.” Relationships with local schools and businesses, as well as with friends at the county and state level, provide a great opportunity for cross promotion for events and services.

In 2020 the various ways the City has tried to engage the community has resulted in:

  • 356,390 phone calls handled by the City of Novi
  • 42,286 average number of visits to each month
  • 8,391 Facebook ‘likes’
  • 9,600 Facebook 'follows'
  • 3,528 Twitter followers
